Springing into May!

It seems spring and butterflies are what is called for this week! Many challenges are looking for these, so I combined that with Cupcake Inspirations picture challenge, and this is what came out!

These are definitely not my colors, so I really felt it was a challenge! My mind just can't see the pink and the orange together as being good, so I literally tried to stitch them together! I used the sketch from the Stamptacular Sunday challenge blog and cut out all my panels (all paper is from Stampin' Up). Then I dug out the sewing machine and stitched them all onto the green cardstock. The stamp is from a Stampin' Up set called Flower of the Month. The rhinestones and flowers are from my stash. The butterfly punch is made by Marvy, and I just love it! I punched them from yellow cardstock, glittered them, and glued down only their bodies so I could pop the wings up.

I entered this card into these challenges:

Cupcake Inspiration #57 - picture inspiration
The Crafty Pad - any punch
Cowgirl Sunday Challenge - mother's day or spring
Tellen's Place - dragonflies and butterflies
Alphabet Challenge - B is for Butterflies
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Shiny, Sparkly, Special
Sweet Stampin' - Color combo

Fun in the Sunshine

I just had to use these spring colors to celebrate the first day of sun in almost a week! I am so happy spring is almost here! It will be time to find out if the bulbs I planted last fall actually took...keep your fingers crossed. Ok, so the sun was out yesterday when I actually made the card, but not now; bummer.

Oh, yeah...the card....

I decided to color up this little House Mouse when I was making my last post. So I had one ready to go! I combined a few challenges and this is the combo I came up with! The sketch is Friday Sketchers #91. I also wanted to add the image in a circle which is for Cupcake Craft challenge #80 - Round and Round. I added the Cuttlebug Dots background for the same reason. The dots were then brayered with Summer Sun to add in the yellow to qualify for the Daring Cardmakers challenge - Here come the Sun. It also qualifies for the Papertake Weekly challenge to use Buttons, Bows, Brads and Bling! Ok, one more! The glittery designer paper and the glitter was added around the scalloped mats for the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle challenge - Sparkle and Shine. Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays is also having a DT call, so head on over and check it out!

Whew...So here is another picture to show the glitter better:

And another to show the ribbon:

And the last one to show the rhinestones!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Keeping Your Ducks in a Row

Hello again! Snow is expected for today. Just when I was getting ready for Spring! Don't worry I have a springtime card that will get us out of the winter doldrums.

The image is another free digi from Pollycraft called Spring Things - Follow the Leader. See my sidebar for a link to the site. Again my favorite medium is water color crayons and a blender pen, so what else would I use?!

I backed the image on dark green cardstock. The waves of light green on the top and the bottom were made with a Creative Memories cutter. I used the yellow in the middle to offset all the white, and added some brads to balance the card.

A nice simple card with a plea for warmer weather!

This card qualifies for the Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #14 - Digital Delights, and also the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #37 - Digi Coloring.

Spring Tilda

I am craving spring this week! That concept definitely spilled over into my crafting. I have used Magnolia image Tilda with Bike to make a very bright, spring-like card. Using Stampin' Up water color crayons (my favorite medium!) and a blender pen I have made Tilda shine! The next step was to cut her out and use pop dots to adhere her to the black cardstock. Layering that with an embossed script background and a bright orange card finished the look.

The bow is adhered with my new favorite glue that I was introduced to at a stamp class I took. The glue is called THE ULTIMATE. It definitely live up to it's name! You should be able to find it in your favorite craft store, but here's a link to their website: www.crafterspick.com

This card is also going to be used for my first ever challenge that I am going to enter. A great blog that I have found, Roses on Paper, is hosting a challenge to use "my favorite medium." You should definitely stop by and check out all the great submissions!
