Easter White on White

I don't usually make Easter cards to give out, but I couldn't resist with this little basket! The basket is from a Stampin' Up set called Roosting.

I started by putting a whole bunch of white cardstock through the Big Shot. I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots, Spellbinders Borderabilities Eyelets, and the Spellbinders Circle and Scallop Nestabilities. I decided to do one extra color, the yellow, to give it a little punch, so I used a yellow ribbon and sponged yellow on the scallop circle. The basket I colored with colored pencils and glitter pens. I also distressed the top and bottom of the Swiss Dots background and the circle with the basket.

This card qualifies for the following challenges:

My Time To Craft - Lovely Lace
Cute Daisy May - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Spots and Dots

Cooking It Up With Katie #12

Hello again! It sure has been a crafty week!

Over at the Cooking it Up With Katie blog she is challenging us to use the Decoupage/3D technique, some metal, and to add another current challenge to the mix. For my card I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch, and also the challenge from Totally Stampalicious blog to use black and white plus one other color.

I have used another House Mouse image....yes I didn't realize I had so many here! This little mouse was enjoying one too many strawberries, so my one other color is red! The sketch this time was a great one, so my card is actually made to fit a standard #10 envelope (think bills!). I stamped, colored and then used the Nestabilities circle and scallop to cut the image and the red mat. I then stamped and colored another of the same image and used my paper snips to cut out 2 strawberries and the mouse. I popped these two up in the same place on my finished image to make the 3D effect.

The two side panels are cut using a 2" square punch onto which I added the flourish from the Stampin' Up set Doodle This. Then I just had to use some red pearls and the library clips to jazz it up a bit! The ribbon and bow were added to finish off the sketch!

I hope you enjoyed the card, and don't forget to check out these great blogs and try your hand at their challenges!

Fun in the Sunshine

I just had to use these spring colors to celebrate the first day of sun in almost a week! I am so happy spring is almost here! It will be time to find out if the bulbs I planted last fall actually took...keep your fingers crossed. Ok, so the sun was out yesterday when I actually made the card, but not now; bummer.

Oh, yeah...the card....

I decided to color up this little House Mouse when I was making my last post. So I had one ready to go! I combined a few challenges and this is the combo I came up with! The sketch is Friday Sketchers #91. I also wanted to add the image in a circle which is for Cupcake Craft challenge #80 - Round and Round. I added the Cuttlebug Dots background for the same reason. The dots were then brayered with Summer Sun to add in the yellow to qualify for the Daring Cardmakers challenge - Here come the Sun. It also qualifies for the Papertake Weekly challenge to use Buttons, Bows, Brads and Bling! Ok, one more! The glittery designer paper and the glitter was added around the scalloped mats for the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle challenge - Sparkle and Shine. Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays is also having a DT call, so head on over and check it out!

Whew...So here is another picture to show the glitter better:

And another to show the ribbon:

And the last one to show the rhinestones!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Valentine's Easel Card

So this is an easel card. When I saw them on the Splitcoaststampers site, I said no way, that is way to difficult. Turns out it was the fastest, easiest card I have made in a while! Check here for the template.

I was blog hopping for a while yesterday and came across Charisma Cardz Challenges. This week's challenge is white on white. I don't usually make monochromatic cards, but I couldn't resist this one. I figured it was a great time to try out the easel card.

This card also qualifies for the challenge from the Alphabet Challenge Blog - New Technique. Hop on over to these blogs and try your hand at their challenges.

Ok, on to the card! I made the easel out of the white cardstock. More white put through the Big Shot with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. A white strip was also cut out with Spellbinders Borderabilities - Eyelets for the bottom section. The Big Shot was also used for the tag with Sizzix die Tag Set.

The heart stamp was from a Stampin' Up set called Polka Dot Punches. I stamped that on the tag with a light pink ink. Next I made a bow through the hole in the tag and attached that to the paper with the swiss dots with pop dots. Pop dots were also used to adhere that whole sheet to the card. For the lower section I used the Ultimate glue to put on the border and the pearls from Stampin' Up's pretties kit. The last thing was putting some diamond dust glitter in the holes on the border to give it some shine!

Enjoy your stamping!
