Repeat Impressions DCC - Karen

Hello!  I'm starting to get spring fever here!  Unfortunately tonight and tomorrow's weather is calling for snow!  Icky.

Spring with pastel colors is what Karen has challenged us with today at The House That Stamps Built.  I have used all Repeat Impressions stamps of course! ;)  The image is 2610-J Jump for Joy, and the sentiment I used is 3104-F Happy Everything.

The purple paper is from Stampin' Up and the patterned paper is from a new pack I picked up at the local craft store.  The pack is K&Company's Wild Raspberry.  The ribbon is from my stash.

I would like to add this to the following challenges:

Forever Friends - Ribbons and Lace
Kaboodle Doodle - shades of purple
PanPastel Challenge - use a ribbon

Have a great rest of the week!

Color Challenge at Totally Stampalicious!

Good morning!  I am scheduling this post, as it is school vacation and I talked myself into having a Close To My Heart party tonight.  So I need to CLEAN!  Anyone want to order just let me know! HEHE

Today at Totally Stampalicious the challenge is to create a card or project using the colors green, brown, and yellow.  I have to say this was an extreme challenge for me as I almost never put these colors together!

I ended up using New Truck Gus that you can find here at the Totally Stampalicious store.  I stamped it on white and colored it with my copics and backed it on yellow.  The roadmap background is a retired Stampin' Up stamp I had in my stash.  With this sentiment, it definitely is a guy card! lol

I would like to add this to the following challenges:

Here Come the Boys - vintage feel
That Craft Place - anything goes

Have a great week everyone!

My daughter helps...

I have to say my children are amazing inspirations for my cards!  This card for example:  I was feeling particularly achy and foggy with a serious head cold (did I mention I just got over pneumonia as well?  doesn't seem fair does it?) but I knew I had to get this card finished on time.  I showed my 6 year old daughter the sketch and gave her the patterned paper box and told her to pick out two papers that go well together.  Then she decided that the strip across the middle should be a ribbon and she promptly hoofed it to the other room to pick out one that matches the paper she chose.  I picked the flower (Repeat Impressions stamp 1309-J Easter Lily) to stamp and she rummaged around and dug out this little birdie (2617-D Tiny Bird).  She begged me to put it somewhere on the stamped part and PLEASE! PLEASE! color it blue.

Here's how it came out:

HUH.

Maybe she should plan all my cards....

PS.  Head on over to The House That Stamps Built to check out the sketch...and maybe have your children help you with a card too!

Designer's Choice Challenge!

Happy Hump Day!  Parts of this week has flown by and other parts are dragging!  Do you ever find that?  I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day yesterday!

Today at The House That Stamps Built we have another designer's choice challenge for you!  Joy has challenged us to use up our scraps!  Please head on over there and check out all the design team inspiration!

I have made a very simple card today with some scraps of white and cream I had in my very huge scrap box.   I actually had so much in my scrap box I became overwhelmed and I gave up trying to match up papers and just went clean and simple.

The image, 4305-I Fairy Kiss, was stamped in black on the white paper scrap and colored with copics before being cut out.  The sentiment, 4010-I You Don't Marry, was stamped directly onto the cream paper.  I added a little crystal effects to the wings for a shine!

Have a good day!

Texturize!

Hello and good morning to you all!  It's a Totally Stampalicious Monday, time for a challenge!  We would like you to add some texture to your cards or projects.

For my card I have used buttons and dry embossing for my texture.  The image and sentiment are from a Totally Stampalicious set called Storybook Elizabeth.  I colored her with my copics, traced around her with a light gray and then cut her out.

Don't forget Totally Stampalicious still has the promotion going on where the more you buy the more free stamps you get!

I would like to add this to the following challenges:

Sew Many Challenges - buttons+blog hop
One Stitch at a Time - Anything goes

Stamp of the Week - Flowering Hearts

Hello again!  Today at Repeat Impressions we have a new stamp of the week that you can purchase at 50% off for this week only!  Be sure to head on over to The House That Stamps Built for all the details!

The stamp that is being featured is called 4316-I Flowering Hearts:

I have paired it here on my card with another Repeat Impressions stamp 1511-P Heart Shutters Window.

Originally I had stamped the flowering hearts in the window, but I thought that it looked a little flat.  So I used a craft knife and cut out the center of the window and backed it with blue paper.  Then I cut the flower pot out of the center of the window piece that I had already cut out and adhered that with some pop dots.

Here's a close up of the flower that was made from the same ribbon that is stretched across the bottom panel.  It was loosely stitched and then gathered and a brad put in the middle.

I would like to add this to the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps - love/valentines
Let's Ink It Up - ribbons and lace
Catered Crop - hearts
iCopic - hearts (must use copics)

Have a great day!!!

Ribbons, ribbons and more ribbons!

Hello and happy Monday to you all!  Today at Totally Stampalicious we would like you to use at least three different types of ribbons on your card or project.

For my card I used lots of different scraps of ribbons.  I had seen this tutorial here, and I thought that was such a great idea to use up bits and pieces that I had saved.  The sentiment is from Totally Stampalicious set  Fairytale Charlotte.

I would like to enter this into the challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle to use a die cut or punch.

I hope you have an awesome week, and don't forget to link up your ribbon project at Totally Stampalicious!

Valentine's at Dream Valley

Hello again!  It's Superbowl Sunday!  Are all you Pats fans ready?!  It's also time for another challenge at Dream Valley!  Today we are looking for some Valentine's Day projects.

We have two awesome sponsors this fortnight.  The first one is One Stop Card Crafts who is donating this cool prize:

The second is Joanna Sheen!

The prize is a 10 pound gift certificate to the store.  There's also free shipping and handling with only a minimum of a 5 pound order!

For my project this time around I have made a bookmark.

I have been making more Valentine's card this year than I ever make, so I decided to give cards a break and do a little less traditional bookmark with a definitely less than traditional Valentine's set!

The stamp set I have used is from Totally Stampalicious entitled Stupid Cupid.  I colored Stella in with my copics and punched the sentiment out with an oval punch from Stampin' Up.  The paper is some scrap that I had in my HUGE scrap box.  Definitely will be going through some of that soon and weeding it out!

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:
One Stop Craft Challenge - For the One I Love
Stamp Scrap and Doodle - die cuts or punches
Prairie Fun Fridays - anything but a card
Alota Rubber Stamps - #76 Love with no Red

I hope you come play along with us at Dream Valley!  Have a great week and Go Pats!

Embossing Challenge

Hello and happy Wednesday to you all!  I am finally starting to feel better after almost a week and a half of having pneumonia.  Recovery is a little on the slow side, but at least I am back to work!

Today at The House That Stamps Built Miriam has challenged us to do some heat embossing.  If you like to heat emboss, then why don't you play along?

For my project I have made a simple valentine's card.  I heat embossed Repeat Impressions' stamp 4903-F Love Post  in clear, then swiped the ink pad over it and wiped the image off so it would show better.  I added another Repeat Impressions image 6103-J Thinking Vertical in black on the left.  I backed it on red and added black ribbon before putting on a plain white card.

Have a great rest of the week, and I hope you play along!
