Texture Challenge at Riley and Company

Hello everyone!  Good morning!  Are you like me and counting down the days until summer vacation?  10 more days until my kids' school (aka my WORK!)  is done for this school year!  But who's counting!?!

I hope you enjoyed our blog hop and all of the new Funnybones stamps.  I had a great time playing with all of the new sentiments!

Today on the Riley and Company blog Kelly is challenging us to use texture on our projects.  Here's my card:

I have used kraft paper for the backing.  For the texture, I'm not sure what you call it....This is something that I had in my box of bling.  It is a weaved pattern made of red and gold thread.  I thought it would look perfect on a Christmas card!  Riley is carrying a Christmas tree on this stamp from the clear stamp set called Carrying Tree Riley! You can find it in the store HERE.

Make sure you ink up your Riley and Company stamps and come play along in our texture challenge!

Early Christmas

Good morning everyone!  We have a new challenge for you over at Dream Valley today.  This fortnight's challenge is to make your own flowers and/or embellishments.

I have used an image that I had colored a while ago (try 6+ months lol) when I was using some watercolors. You all know that I don't use a lot of flowers or embellishments on my cards, but I thought that this image needed a little something.

I used a cricut cartridge from Close to My Heart and cut out two flower patterns.  The flowers then had to be rolled and held together with some glue dots.  I found glue dots to be the easiest this time around because the flower was so small and glue dots don't ever let go!

The next step was to use some Cherry Splash from A-muse Studios.  No, I'm not brand specific, I'm an equal opportunity crafter! LOL  I topped the flowers and the image off with a little bit of glitter.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

Crimbo Crackers - Christmas + how long?
DRS Designes - Letter B - Bird
Cute Card Thursday - fly like a bird
Ruby's Rainbow - things with wings

Have a great week!  Happy crafting!

Non-Traditional Christmas at Dream Valley

Good morning!  I hope all of you are enjoying the weekend!  I know I am!  Christmas plans are in full swing, the cards have been mailed out and now on to decorating!  We're also in the Christmas mood over at Dream Valley!  This time however we would like to see your NON-TRADITIONAL Christmas cards.

For my card I have used a Stampin' Up set.  I have to say that I made it a while ago, so if anyone can fill me in on the set name that would be great!  LOL

I inked the pink circle with a mask and sponges and then used the reverse of the mask to cover it and stamp the snowflakes.  Next step was to stamp the image and sentiment in black.  A clean and simple card, in pink!

Come on over to play at Dream Valley and you could be the winner of 4 images of your choice from our sponsor Meljen's Designs!

I can't wait to see your creations!

Black and White Christmas

I've heard of a blue Christmas, but have you heard of a black and white Christmas?  Naaa me neither!  Then it's perfect for our non-traditional Christmas card challenge at Totally Stampalicious!

I have used Deacon and Ava HoHo that you can find HERE in the Totally Stampalicious store.  I stamped them in white ink on black paper and black ink on white paper.  The next step was to cut the black paper at an angle and match it up with the image on the white paper.  I kept the papers big, then matched it up, then cut them down together later to make my panel.

Don't forget to play along in our challenge!  I can't wait to see the awesome entries!

Have a great week!

Anything goes at Totally Stampalicious

Yep, you heard correctly!  It's anything goes today at Totally Stampalicious

For my card I have used Deacon Elf which you can find HERE at the Totally Stampalicious store.  I colored him with copics and used the Atyou Spica glitter pens to make the glittery hat and ribbon.  I used a design from one of the presents that Deacon is carrying to make the card design with.  The ribbon is some I picked up at a local craft store.

I would like to add this to the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut's - no patterned paper
Crafty Ann's - Christmas in October
Crafty Ribbons - Christmas

I hope you have a great week, and for all of you here in the Northeast I hope you stay safe and dry!

Pink and Blue Christmas...

Good morning!  It's time for another Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge!  It's also time to start crafting for Christmas!  The challenge this week is to show us your Christmas cards and/or projects!

I have used Ava and Deacon HoHo that you can find HERE at the Totally Stampalicious store.  I colored this in with copics.  The gloss on the HoHo is crystal effects from Stampin' Up.  I'm not exactly sure where the patterned paper comes from, as it was a scrap I found in the drawer left over from another project.  The flowers are also from Stampin' Up.

I would like to add this to the following challenges:
Jingle Bells - pink christmas

Have a great week and don't forget to play in our challenge at Totally Stampalicious!

Repeat Impressions - Designer Choice Challenge

Today over at The House That Stamps Built our lovely and talented Makiko has challenged us to make a shaped card this week!

I have used nestabilities labels 8 set to make my shaped card.  The overlays on the front is dry embossed with the dots embossing folder.  The front panel used Repeat Impressions stamp 2719-K Lg Pine Tree in different shades of blue to add depth and dimension.  A little diamond dust on the trees and ribbon finishes it off!

I hope everyone is getting excited for Christmas!  I know I am!

Santa's Little Helper - White on White

Hello!  I've had this Tilda in my stash for a while now, all colored up and ready to go!  Totally forgot about it, but ran across it the other day and finally decided to do something about it!  Poor Tilda, feeling all neglected! lol

I have colored her with my copics and decided to showcase that by making a white on white card.  The embossing was achieved with cuttlebug embossing folders used on the big shot.  I've also used the circle nestabilities for Tilda to sit on.

I have been playing with the new camera my husband bought!  I have to say it takes great close up pictures!  Let me know what you think of the photos!  Do I need a different background?  Something lighter?

Ok, I've also entered this into the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes - something from your stash
Crafty Creations - sketch
Stamp Something - Something to Celebrate
SSDS - anything goes
Anything Goes Challenges - Christmas
Just Magnolia - anything goes

Phew!  That's a lot!  I will be back Saturday night with a post for Let's Ink It Up!  Check back soon!

SSDS - Christmas Challenge

Hello fellow crafters! It's been a long hot week here in New Hampshire! We've been in the 90-100 degree F range all this week and I am definitely looking forward to the change over to 70's! Hot, Hot week for the second week of school for the kids! Ah well, they are off on a long weekend now anyway!

Ok, on to the challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays! This week we are looking for your Christmas cards! I, for one, have started seeing what designs I want to make for my Christmas cards this year, so I have been experimenting with different ideas!

This week I used another stamp from the Stampin' Up set Snowy Play that I borrowed from my MIL. Thank you! :) I stamped this skating snowman on white cardstock and colored him with my copics. Then I did some creative cutting! Not exactly sure where I came up with this, just did! lol After I had him all cut out I glittered the whole "ice" area. The red and green paper is from Stampin' Up and the dp is a random scrap. I finished it off with some offray ribbon.

I am entering this card into these challenges:

Creative Inspirations - Christmas in August
Crafty Cardmakers - glitter and sparkle
Paper Sundaes - Christmas in August
Christmas Card Challenge - sparkle and shine

Don't forget to check out the other DT projects and upload your own at SSDS!

Christmas in July #2

Here's my second Christmas in July card! Image from House Mouse, sentiment from Stampin' Up, and of course colored with my copics! No sketch this time, because the die cut just wouldn't work with any of them at the moment. Although I am entering into these challenges:

House Mouse - letter B (bulb from the light!)
Tellen's Place - Christmas in July
Charisma Cardz - something with a tail
Stamp Something - Christmas in July

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for a dt post from Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays! I'm squeezing all these cards in this week, because swim lessons start up next week for my kids, so I don't know if I will be able to craft much next week! Busy, busy! Summer is just flying by!

Solemn Stillness in PInk

Okay, so a snowstorm dumped a foot of snow on us yesterday, and now we're done cleaning out. Sort of. If you count having to finish a path to the wood pile and shoveling the deck as done.....

So here's the card of the day:

I used the stamp set Solemn Stillness from Stampin' UP. It is a 2-step stamping set, so I stamped the background tree in a light pink (I used Pretty in Pink). The next step is to stamp the swirl tree with the star over the light pink background. I used a Stampin' UP ink called Real Red, but any true red color would work. I then heat embossed the Real Red with a clear embossing powder. After that I sponged Pretty in Pink all over the white cardstock around the image. The final product is mounted on Real Red paper and wrapped in a bow with some silver ribbon. That whole piece is then mounted onto Pretty in Pink cardstock. Here's another view of the card:

Happy stamping everyone!

Polar Bears in Blue

Has everyone recovered from Thanksgiving? I had a very nice relaxing weekend and I hope all of you did too! Soo......the Christmas rush is on!

Over the next few days I will showcase some of the Christmas cards I have made for family and friends. Today's card is a card I titled Polar Bears in Blue, although the scene could be used with any monochromatic color scheme.
The image, background and sentiment are from Stampin' Up set titled Polar Express. I absolutely love these fun, whimsical polar bears! I first stamped the sledding pair on the darkest paper with a white pigment ink pad and then added the snow around them. Next I ripped the edges to make them look like they're going down a steep hill. I then matted it on the next lighter sheet. Then I stamped the sentiment on the upper right corner of that sheet. The whole thing was then mounted on the lightest blue to make the card. A quick and easy Christmas card that looks fun! Don't you want to go sledding now?
