RI SOTW - Winter Tree

Here's my second post on the Monday of a busy week!  Luckily I am ahead of schedule this time instead of behind!

Repeat Impressions has another Stamp of the Week available for purchase at 50% off for this week only.  Please visit their blog The House That Stamps Built for all the details.

The stamp we are showcasing is called 1609-J Winter Tree

I have made a swing card with my stamping.  I did it the hard way, cutting and measuring, but let me tell you I won't be doing that again! :P  Repeat Impressions actually sells these pre-cut and ready to decorate so you and I don't have to go through the rigamarole.  You can find the swing cards here, and the coordinating swing stamps here.

Have a great week!

CAS Easter House Mouse

Hello!  Quick post today because I want to get back outside and enjoy the warmth and sunshine before the cold weather tomorrow!

Here is a quick set of clean and simple cards that I have made for my children for Easter.  I have used different colors for the eggs and ribbon, because yes, I have a boy and a girl!  I made this card with a couple of challenges in mind.  iCopic Challenge #25 is looking for you to use your copics to color an embellishment.  The ribbon was a white satin that I colored to coordinate with the eggs.

House Mouse and Friends wants an Easter card, and Cards for Men wants an Easter card.  I realize the pink one doesn't count for Cards for Men, but the blue does! :)

Here are the copics I have used on the image and ribbon:

Enjoy your day!

I have also done some paper piecing on the "eaten" strawberry on the far right, although it is somewhat difficult to see!

This sentiment is from the Stampin' Up set Wisecracks:

and this image is from House Mouse:

Put it all together and what do you get?

Christmas in July #2

Here's my second Christmas in July card! Image from House Mouse, sentiment from Stampin' Up, and of course colored with my copics! No sketch this time, because the die cut just wouldn't work with any of them at the moment. Although I am entering into these challenges:

House Mouse - letter B (bulb from the light!)
Tellen's Place - Christmas in July
Charisma Cardz - something with a tail
Stamp Something - Christmas in July

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for a dt post from Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays! I'm squeezing all these cards in this week, because swim lessons start up next week for my kids, so I don't know if I will be able to craft much next week! Busy, busy! Summer is just flying by!

Keeping Cool

Wow! I have been away from blogland for 3 days and it feels like a lifetime! Things have been very hectic around here with only the promise of more. However, I snuck in a quick cardmaking this morning!

I made this card for 3 challenges: The House that Stamps Built - sketch, Tellen's Place - Beach, and Color Throwdown - use pink pirouette, melon mambo and baja breeze. Well I didn't have baja breeze so I substituted in bermuda bay, and I just love how these colors turned out! The image is from House Mouse called Keeping Cool. Funny, this is all about the hot weather, but looking out the window it is in the 50's and raining here!

I hope everyone enjoys their week and I will hopefully be back on Saturday with another dt project for Stamp, Scrap and Doodle!

Smell the Flowers!

The Sweet Stop has a great sketch to play with this week, and I see many of the challenges want flowers, so this is a combination of some great challenges!

Here's a close up of the image, isn't it great!?

I used a House Mouse image called Butterfliers. The sentiment is from House Mouse as well. I stamped both of these with black ink on white cardstock, and colored the image with my copics. For the background I brayered Soft Sky on white cardstock. Then I used some of my scraps to make panels to match the colors on the House Mouse image. The flowers are Flora Doodles.

I entered this card into the following challenges:

Our Creative Corner - Blooming Blossoms
House Mouse Monday - Flower Power
Kitchen Sink Challenge - Hip to be Square
Creative Card Crew - April Showers Bring May Flowers

I hope everyone had a great start to the week! Enjoy spring!

Cooking It Up With Katie #12

Hello again! It sure has been a crafty week!

Over at the Cooking it Up With Katie blog she is challenging us to use the Decoupage/3D technique, some metal, and to add another current challenge to the mix. For my card I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch, and also the challenge from Totally Stampalicious blog to use black and white plus one other color.

I have used another House Mouse image....yes I didn't realize I had so many here! This little mouse was enjoying one too many strawberries, so my one other color is red! The sketch this time was a great one, so my card is actually made to fit a standard #10 envelope (think bills!). I stamped, colored and then used the Nestabilities circle and scallop to cut the image and the red mat. I then stamped and colored another of the same image and used my paper snips to cut out 2 strawberries and the mouse. I popped these two up in the same place on my finished image to make the 3D effect.

The two side panels are cut using a 2" square punch onto which I added the flourish from the Stampin' Up set Doodle This. Then I just had to use some red pearls and the library clips to jazz it up a bit! The ribbon and bow were added to finish off the sketch!

I hope you enjoyed the card, and don't forget to check out these great blogs and try your hand at their challenges!

Fun in the Sunshine

I just had to use these spring colors to celebrate the first day of sun in almost a week! I am so happy spring is almost here! It will be time to find out if the bulbs I planted last fall actually took...keep your fingers crossed. Ok, so the sun was out yesterday when I actually made the card, but not now; bummer.

Oh, yeah...the card....

I decided to color up this little House Mouse when I was making my last post. So I had one ready to go! I combined a few challenges and this is the combo I came up with! The sketch is Friday Sketchers #91. I also wanted to add the image in a circle which is for Cupcake Craft challenge #80 - Round and Round. I added the Cuttlebug Dots background for the same reason. The dots were then brayered with Summer Sun to add in the yellow to qualify for the Daring Cardmakers challenge - Here come the Sun. It also qualifies for the Papertake Weekly challenge to use Buttons, Bows, Brads and Bling! Ok, one more! The glittery designer paper and the glitter was added around the scalloped mats for the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle challenge - Sparkle and Shine. Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays is also having a DT call, so head on over and check it out!

Whew...So here is another picture to show the glitter better:

And another to show the ribbon:

And the last one to show the rhinestones!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Birthday House Mouse with Candle

This card I put together with some coordinating scraps of dp I had on hand. I started by making a bifold card and then making a front panel for it. I cut all the scraps the same size, then put through the Martha Stewart Scallop Dot punch. I taped and layered them in a pattern, then added the green to tone down the pink. The image is from a House Mouse stamp. It originally had another mouse off to the left which I cut off and used on the inside. The flowers I used were from a packet I won from the weekly blog candy at The Craft Table. Thanks!

Here's the inside view of the trifold.........

And the other mouse who overindulged!!!!

This card qualifies for the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz - Birthday Card with a Candle
Creative Card Crew - Celebration
Tuesday Taggers - Swirls and Curls. The sponsor this week is Crafty Individuals. Please check them out!

I hope to have some more fabulous cards for you soon! Stay tuned!
