Early Christmas

Good morning everyone!  We have a new challenge for you over at Dream Valley today.  This fortnight's challenge is to make your own flowers and/or embellishments.  

I have used an image that I had colored a while ago (try 6+ months lol) when I was using some watercolors. You all know that I don't use a lot of flowers or embellishments on my cards, but I thought that this image needed a little something.  

I used a cricut cartridge from Close to My Heart and cut out two flower patterns.  The flowers then had to be rolled and held together with some glue dots.  I found glue dots to be the easiest this time around because the flower was so small and glue dots don't ever let go!

The next step was to use some Cherry Splash from A-muse Studios.  No, I'm not brand specific, I'm an equal opportunity crafter! LOL  I topped the flowers and the image off with a little bit of glitter.

Here is a card that I made for my mother for her birthday next Monday. She is under strict orders not to look at my blog until Sunday when we are having her party! We'll see if it works! :) She has recently started her own Christmas card making blog, so please go take a look here at her wonderful work!

I have used Stampin' Up papers (well the yellow is a random one!), and the flower is made from a Stampin' Up set called Doodle This. I stamped the flowers on white paper and colored them with my copics. Cutting all of those flowers out took some time though! I am still a beginner at stitching, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it!

Hello again! I know you never see a post from me on a Friday! However with Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays taking a bit of a rest, I didn't want you guys to be missing my lovely face! Hahaha!

Ok, so I participated in the blog hop over at Moving Along With the Times yesterday, and I came up with a project to go with the challenge! The challenge was anything but a card, and I had been looking for something to do with a tin that I had hanging around.

Quite a difference huh? I made this for a special two year old whose birthday is coming up. I figure she can put her colored pencils or crayons in it when she crafts! Ha Ha! I'm trying to corrupt her early! :)

I'm afraid I don't have any names to give you for the products I used. All of this came from my neglected stash. It kind of stinks, because I'd really like to know the name of this paper! I love it!

Maisy on Stool

Hello all! I hope everyone had a wicked good weekend! My post is later than normal today, because with all the rain I was having a hard time motivating myself and later because blogger was having the same problem! lol!

I'm back here today with one of my new digi stamps from Di's Digi Downloads called Maisy on Stool. I colored her with my watercolor crayons and a blender pen. Her sweet teddy bear got my brown copic! Lucky bear....

The background I brayered with some Stampin' Up ink. I used old olive for the bottom and then layered barely banana, pretty in pink and almost amethyst from the middle to top. I backed that on a pink card. I cut out Maisy and her backing paper with my circle cutting system. I also added some pink ribbon over my green paper strip and pink flowers with cream colored pearls in the center to finish it off.

I used sketch #57 from Card Patterns to design my card. I also entered this card in the SecretCrafter Saturday pink and green plus flowers challenge.....and the Stamptacular Sunday flower power challenge.....and the flower challenge at Quirky Crafts.
