Red, White and Blue Horses

I saw this card in Michelle Zindorf's tutorials, and I had to try it out! It is a quick and easy card using the direct to paper technique.

First I heat embossed the stars in the upper left hand corner using clear embossing powder. Then I used the direct to paper technique with my Creamy Caramel all over the card except the embossed corner. On the embossed corner I used Not Quite Navy Ink. The last color to go on was the Ruby Red, and I just used the corner of that pad to smear on some stripes. The stamp is from a set I dug up from my mother-in-laws stash that I wanted to try out! It is from Stampin' Up's set Wanted. I used black ink and stamping off to get the running horses on the flag. I used my distressor tool and distressed the edges of the flag and rubbed the Not Quite Navy ink over the distressed edges. Then I just backed it on white paper and that's it! Quick and easy card, and really bright bold colors!

I entered this card into the following challenges:

Fab N Funky - Get it all out
Crafty Creations - Distressing
Tellen's Place - Ink Distressing
