Cowgirl Tilda

My seven year-old son had an idea......He decided to give me a recipe and see what I came up with. Isn't he the greatest! :)

He wanted my card to have Tilda sitting on a circle:

Cowboy boots in the bottom right corner:

and to have pink on it, so here's the finished product!

I used Cherry Tilda, a Stampin' Up set called Wanted to emboss the background images, and some clip art cowboy boots I Googled! I brayered over the embossed backgrounds in pink for the wanted panel and green for the paisley panel. Then I cut out the circle using my nestabilities circles. The last thing I did for the panels was to distress the edges and rub dark brown ink over them. Tilda and the cowboy boots were colored with my copics and attached with pop dots for the 3D effect.

My son was extra tickled that I could find some challenges to enter it into, but said it would have looked better with a pink and gray color scheme! Kids! Gotta love 'em! Here's the challenges:

Kaboodle Doodles - Embossing
A Spoonful of Sugar - 3D Something
Fab N Funky - no DP
Crafty Creations - Make your own paper backgrounds

Smell the Flowers!

The Sweet Stop has a great sketch to play with this week, and I see many of the challenges want flowers, so this is a combination of some great challenges!

Here's a close up of the image, isn't it great!?

I used a House Mouse image called Butterfliers. The sentiment is from House Mouse as well. I stamped both of these with black ink on white cardstock, and colored the image with my copics. For the background I brayered Soft Sky on white cardstock. Then I used some of my scraps to make panels to match the colors on the House Mouse image. The flowers are Flora Doodles.

I entered this card into the following challenges:

Our Creative Corner - Blooming Blossoms
House Mouse Monday - Flower Power
Kitchen Sink Challenge - Hip to be Square
Creative Card Crew - April Showers Bring May Flowers

I hope everyone had a great start to the week! Enjoy spring!

SSDS Week 37 - Girly

CALLING ALL SATURDAY CRAFTERS, CALLING ALL SATURDAY CRAFTERS. We are looking for YOU! to join us at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday's challenge. This week we are looking for something girly. That's right, a really broad category, so link up your submission today and you could be in the running for these:

From our lovely sponsor Sweet Pea Stamps:

For the challenge I didn't have any Sweet Pea stamps, so I made a card using Amber Ink's Gotta Have It Girl!
I colored her with my copics and paper pieced her bags. I seemed to have a bit of a problem with her hair where it crosses her arm. I guess I will have to invest in the correct paper to use with my new copics! Lucky for me you can't really see it on the card, just the blow up of the image! lol

So here's the card:

I also entered it into the following challenges:

Mojo Monday - sketch
Sew Many Cards - Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting my blog, and don't forget to come play at SSDS!
