Busy Holidays!

I just wanted to make a quick post to let you know where I have been.  Nothing horrible has happened, but I have been busy with holiday preparations.  Last week was Thanksgiving, so I was busy cleaning the house, making pies and getting ready.  MMmmmmm pie!

This coming weekend my mother and I are going to be taking part in a craft fair in our town, so I will be busy gathering all my dodads for that.  I will be seeing you on Saturday I hope for another challenge from Let's Ink It Up!  All I can say is dig out your glitter, it should be a fun one!

Let's Ink It Up - Recycle It

This week at Let's Ink It Up the challenge is to recycle something.  In case you haven't heard, the challenge is going to run for an entire month now, so you have until the 30th of November to get your creations in!

Our sponsors for the month of November are Whimsy Stamps and Wags 'n Whiskers!  Yes two sponsors means two winners!  Head on over to the challenge blog and see the spectacular prizes they have in store for you guys!

For my project I altered an old square shaped canning jar.  I picked up some great paper at my local crafting store, and this seemed like the perfect place to use it.   I paired that with a tag I made out of a sizzix die cut and Stampin' Up stamp sets.  The sentiment is from the set called Snowy Play, and I filled in some extra snow with the set Itty Bitty Backgrounds.

I'm not sure yet what I'm going to put in it, but it will probably be a Christmas gift for someone!

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges:

Little Red Wagon - use red
Pixie Cottage - recycle and/or sketch (I recycled!)
Craft your Passion - anything goes
PaperPlay Challenges - circles
Charisma Cardz - with love at Christmas (does it work???)
Raise the Bar - Curves (Scallops)

Time for a Quickie

No, I meant a quick card!  Dirty minds all of you.  :P

Wow!  I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted!  It's almost been 2 weeks!  I have finally dug around in my crafty bin and created something!

Here's a simple card I have made for a friend who's father has recently passed away.  I love the sentiment, and I hope it brings her some comfort.

Image is from Inkadinkado and is colored with my copics.

I have entered this into the following challenges:

Oh La La - remember, remember
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Little Red Wagon - use red

Best wishes for a great week everyone!

Let's Make A Scene at Let's Ink It Up!

Was the challenge easy to guess this time!?!  Yup this week at Let's Ink It Up we want a scene.  No twist this time, just interpret it any way that you want!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Tickled Pink Stamps.

Photobucket

They are supplying the winner with a $10 voucher to their store which you can find here.

"Tickled Pink Stamps is based in Australia and is the home of the Lil Lolita and Lil Lads Stamps.  They are everything quirky and sweet all in the one stamp and perfect for any occasion.  Tickled Pink Stamps also has a range of sentiments and images to match with the gorgeous Lil Lolita and Lil Lads ranges.  With new images coming all the time there is always something there to suit everyone and help bring out the quirky in us all...."

So for my project this time I made a scene out of Stampscapes stamps, and adhered it to this wooden box that I had stained.  I took a few pictures so that you could see the details.  I have included the supplies list below.

Supplies List:

Stamps:  All Stampscapes - Cumulus Clouds, Reeds lg, Bear, Waterside Bluff left and right, Twisting Pine, Crooked Limb
Ink: Stampin' Up
Tools:  Blender pens and Colorbox Stylus

I have entered this into the following challenges:

Have a great weekend everyone!

Santa's Little Helper - White on White

Hello!  I've had this Tilda in my stash for a while now, all colored up and ready to go!  Totally forgot about it, but ran across it the other day and finally decided to do something about it!  Poor Tilda, feeling all neglected! lol

I have colored her with my copics and decided to showcase that by making a white on white card.  The embossing was achieved with cuttlebug embossing folders used on the big shot.  I've also used the circle nestabilities for Tilda to sit on.

I have been playing with the new camera my husband bought!  I have to say it takes great close up pictures!  Let me know what you think of the photos!  Do I need a different background?  Something lighter?

Ok, I've also entered this into the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes - something from your stash
Crafty Creations - sketch
Stamp Something - Something to Celebrate
SSDS - anything goes
Anything Goes Challenges - Christmas
Just Magnolia - anything goes

Phew!  That's a lot!  I will be back Saturday night with a post for Let's Ink It Up!  Check back soon!

Busy Fall

Hello!  I don't normally do this, but I wanted to show my loyal followers why I have been absent for over a week!  This past weekend we (my family) attended the Deerfield Fair here in New Hampshire.  It is something that we do every year, guess it's a tradition!  We take the kids out of school and hang out at the fair.  The weather was a bit on the wet side for about half of it, but that's what rain coats were made for right?!  So I will leave you with some pictures of the fair!

My Final SSDS Challenge :(

Today is my final post for Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays.  Our DT term is up.  (Sniff)  I would like to thank Regina for the wonderful opportunity she has given me!  She is a doll to work with, and I will miss the rest of the team immensely as well!

This week we are looking for some kind of stitching on your project.  Our sponsor is Paper Cupcakes, who has kindly donated 2 free digis of the winner's choice!  Be sure to check them out!

For my project I have made a mini backpack.  You can find the template for it here.  The only modification I made to the directions was to stitch with my sewing machine before I added all the brads.  Well, my sewing has improved somewhat, but I still have a long way to go!

I have entered this project into these challenges:

Anything Goes Challenge Blog - Cute
Make it Crafty - anything goes
Cowgirl's Sunday - Hip not to be square
Charisma Cardz - anything goes
Cooking it up with Katie -  Sweet, Metal, Ribbon

Don't forget to come over to SSDS and show us your stitching!

Let's Ink It Up - Challenge #3

Hello, here's my second post today! Yes, weekend's are busy around here! lol Today's challenge at Let's Ink It Up is to use your favorite stamp with the twist being to use a charm.
I have to say this was a stretch for me, because I haven't ever used a charm! I love being on design teams, they challenge you to try new stuff all the time! :)

Ok, so you know our challenge, but here's the sponsor: Caroline's Rubber Stamps! Caroline has donated a voucher for £20! Here's what Caroline has to say:

I have been designing rubber stamps for well over 20 years and have written for many magazines over that time. I live in Liverpool with husband and son...my daughter left home about a year ago.

As well as stamping and crafting I enjoy gardening (when it's not raining) and oil painting. I have recently started designing digistamps. I am looking forward to sponsoring the challenges and to seeing all your artwork.

Make sure you head on over and check out her stamps and get some shopping in!

So you know our challenge and our sponsor, now what did I make?! Well like I said this is a bit of a stretch for me to use a charm, and how do you use a grass stamp with a charm? This is what I came up with!

Not too shabby huh?! The papers are scraps, but I'm pretty sure they're from Stampin' Up. The grass stamp is from the Stampin' Up set Inspired by Nature. The sentiment is from Stampscapes.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and come play at Let's Ink It Up!

Oh yeah! Forgot again! I'm entering these challenges:

Creative Card Crew - Autumn/Fall
Stampin Royalty - stitching (mine is faux, hope that's ok!)

Operation Write Home - Birthday Celebration

Hello everyone! This week we have something special planned at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays! We have paired up with Operation Write Home to help celebrate their birthday bash!

If you haven't already heard about Operation Write Home, I suggest you head over to their site and find out all the wonderful things they do for our troops! The cards that are made and gathered are sent to our war heroes so that they may use them to keep in contact with their family and loved ones while they are serving. This is a great program so I hope you all can help out!

So in honor of that I have made a girl's birthday card! Here it is:

Isn't Tilda just gorgeous! I love her windblown hair, and lilacs are my favorite spring flowers!

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and don't forget to check out our sponsor this week: Craft Brulee! They are offering one lucky winner a $10 gift certificate! So get crafting! :)

Oh yeah, almost forgot! I am entering this card into these challenges!

Glitterbabe - Anything goes (don't forget your bling!)
My Time to Craft - jewelled

SSDS Challenge - Thank you

Hello everyone! Can you believe that days are getting shorter.....and colder!? My kids asked where their BIG blankets were last night!

Well, on this lovely September Saturday the challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays is to make a thank you card.

For my card I used the sketch from Mojo Monday. Creative Inspirations is looking for autumn colors for their DT call, and Theme Thursday is also looking for fall colors. Fab 'N Funky just wants what'eva for their DT call! So to combine all that and the SSDS challenge of making a thank you card, here's mine!

I was loath to cut all new paper, so I dug out my scrap drawer and went at it! The flower is made from Stampin' Up set Doodle This, and the sentiment comes from another Stampin' Up set called Many Thanks.

I hope you play in our challenge at SSDS! Have a great weekend!

Hello and happy Sunday to everyone! We had a wonderful response to our very first challenge over at Let's Ink It Up! We had an amazing number of entries and they were all beautiful! This next challenge will be a fun one! We want you to make either a tag or a bookmark with a twist! Yes all of the challenges will have a twist! This time the twist is that we want your project to have a vintage feel to it! So that's a vintage bookmark or tag!

SSDS - Christmas Challenge

Hello fellow crafters! It's been a long hot week here in New Hampshire! We've been in the 90-100 degree F range all this week and I am definitely looking forward to the change over to 70's! Hot, Hot week for the second week of school for the kids! Ah well, they are off on a long weekend now anyway!

Ok, on to the challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays! This week we are looking for your Christmas cards! I, for one, have started seeing what designs I want to make for my Christmas cards this year, so I have been experimenting with different ideas!

This week I used another stamp from the Stampin' Up set Snowy Play that I borrowed from my MIL. Thank you! :) I stamped this skating snowman on white cardstock and colored him with my copics. Then I did some creative cutting! Not exactly sure where I came up with this, just did! lol After I had him all cut out I glittered the whole "ice" area. The red and green paper is from Stampin' Up and the dp is a random scrap. I finished it off with some offray ribbon.

I am entering this card into these challenges:

Creative Inspirations - Christmas in August
Crafty Cardmakers - glitter and sparkle
Paper Sundaes - Christmas in August
Christmas Card Challenge - sparkle and shine

Don't forget to check out the other DT projects and upload your own at SSDS!

Digi Doodles gave us some digis to play with, and I decided to use Old Truck. I colored it with my copics after my husband researched what the paint jobs looked like! Thanks honey!
