Cats on a Fence - SSDS #38

It is week #38 at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays, and we'd like you to show us your easel cards! There are many tutorials out there in blogland, so if you 've never tried them now is the time! Come link up your card and you could win 3 digis of your choice from our wonderful sponsor Digi Stamp Characters!

Heather also gave the dt some digis to play with and I used these adorable cats!

I colored the cats with my copics, and then cut them out. I used the Labels 8 Nestabilities to make the easel card out of black paper, and I also used them to make the mats. The background behind the cats was brayered with Soft Sky and Old Olive ink. I used Wild Wasabi for the bottom mat. I also used the Big Shot to cut the fence with a Sizzix die. I adhered the fence to the green mat and folded the bottom of it so it would hold the easel card in the right position. The cats were adhered last with pop dots so the fence would go under them.

Don't forget to come and join us at SSDS to play along!

I also entered this card into these challenges:

Alphabet Challenge - A is for Animals
Daring Cardmakers - easel card
Cupcake Craft - Don't be square
Creative Inspirations - Easel Cards
Stampin' Royalty - use your punches

The Road to Magic

I was working from another one of my "recipes." Sketch and Stash had a great sketch here. and Incy Wincy Designs was looking for something magical. I based my design on those, but also added in some other challenges (see the end of the post). With the sketch I sort of rotated it, but it's still there!

The dp is from a pack called The Whimsy Stack. I cut out the shape from the Nestabilities Labels 8 and brayered light blue on the top and green on the bottom, and then stamped the Curvilinear Road from Stampscapes. The next step was to stamp the fairy tale castle from Great Impressions on white cardstock and cut it out using the circle Nestabilities die. I adhered the castle to the card with pop dots, and added some ribbon and flowers!

So these are all the challenges I entered into:

Incy Wincy - magical
Design Dollies - Take a Walk in the Park
Papertake Weekly - Cutie Pie
The Crazy Challenge - Don't call me flat

Thanks for checking out my blog! Happy Stamping!

Rainbow Bugs

I seem to work better when I use a recipe! The "recipes" I use are the different blog challenges! Today I used the sketch challenge from Creating Life's Pieces, the colors of the rainbow challenge from The Crafty Pad, and Crazy 4 Challenges challenge to use 1 ribbon, 2 buttons or brads, and 3 different punches.

I was lucky to find all of my cardstock from my scrap box, so I am being frugal! I folded the yellow, and punched the red using the Martha Stewart Stars border punch. I adhered the red and the orange and the green in that order. I then used the Nestabilities Labels 8 die to punch out the image panel and the Stampin' Up oval punch to punch out the sentiment. I stamped both the Dragonfly and the Thankzzz from the Stampin' Up set Cute as a Bug with Staz-On ink onto the white panels. I colored the dragonfly with some pens and used the direct to paper technique with Only Orange ink to both white punches, and then adhered them with pop dots. Last but not least, I added the ribbon to the bottom with 2 orange flower brads from my stash!

I hope you all enjoy today's card, and don't forget to check out these wonderful challenge sites and come up with your own "recipe!"
