SSDS Week 44 - Use a pocket

Hello again Saturday crafters! Today at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays challenge blog we are looking for you to use a picket. That means either a pocket card or anything that can "hold" something. Our sponsor is Sweet 'n Sassy, so be sure to check out their cute images! Here's what I made:

This image is called Sassy Cassie. I thought she would be great for a pocket card made to look like a corset! I colored her with my copics and all paper is Stampin' Up. I made a gate fold card and used my crop-o-dile to set the eyelets on either side. I used some black ribbon from my stash and laced it up!

I can't have her jumping out of a cake, but she can be pulled out of a card! hahaha

I entered this into the following challenges:

Crazy 4 Challenges - color combo
Our Creative Corner - Gotcha Cornered (I used a Martha Stewart Punch!)
Stamp Something - Happy Somethings

I hope you have a great weekend!

Flowers, Flowers Everywhere

This week is definitely about playing catch up with the house and the yard work. Spring has sprung and there is lots to do! I have managed to get a card out today, but who knows when the next crafty time will come?! Ahhhh!!!!

Here's a close up of the background I made.

So with this card I used Pearl Ex Powders to make a bubbly type background. You can see a tutorial for it here on SplitcoastStampers. This is a very easy technique that makes a LOT of texture and visual interest on your card.

I really liked the gold in the background, so I decided to pair that up with more gold and some black to show it off. I heat embossed the large flower from the Stampin' Up set Doodle This in gold on black paper three times. I cut out two of the images and left the third sitting on a square of the black. I used my crop-o-dile to put large sized eyelets through the center of the flowers and then arranged them how I liked on the pearl ex background. I really love the effect of the textured background with the black and gold.

I hope you enjoyed this post and come back soon for more!

I entered this card into the following challenges:

Tellen's Place - Flowers
Charisma Cardz - Girly with flowers
Cute Card Thursday - Make your own element (designer paper)
Incy Wincy Designs - Anything Goes

Twilight Notebook

Here's a quick project to get you all through the weekend! My son is going to yet ANOTHER birthday party tomorrow, so here's the gift I made to go with him! Abbi is a Twilight fanatic, and that is the theme of her party, hence the photo!

I made this altered notebook with the sketch from Charisma Challenge #7. Black and real red cardstock from Stampin' Up, circles cut from the Creative Memories circle cutter, and silver eyelets put on by my crop-o-dile. The A is chipboard embossed with silver embossing powder.

Head on over to Charisma Cardz and take part in their challenge!
